Red White Pannobile Tasting Notes

Due to the warm climate and the very light soils, we usually produce powerful white wines. Physiological ripeness given, they often develop alcohol contents of around 13-14 volume percent. The region around Lake Neusiedl is particularly suited to cultivate Burgundy varieties and provides optimum conditions for Chardonnay, White Burgundy and Neuburger. In order to do justice to the powerful body of our white wines we mature all varieties in barrels. The classic line (White Burgundy, Chardonnay) are fermented and matured in large wooden casks. This and the relatively long maturation on fine yeast results in marked varietal characteristics as well as lasting fruitiness and aroma complexity. Wines definitely suitable for bottle ageing of several years.

Each year the best batches of White Burgundy, Chardonnay and Neuburger are used to produce the Cuvée Pannobile. Pannobile is matured in Barrique barrels and remains 12 to 14 months on yeast.
