Vintage 2010
A year which turned out to be a rather difficult one for winegrowers. Practically during the entire vegetation period from May onwards we had to fight against a lot of rainfall and strong fungal pressure. Temperatures remained rather moderate and sunshine was often a long time coming. On September 15th we started harvesting the grape variety Zweigelt. Strong selection in the vineyards was necessary, as, again and again, berries were affected by Botrytis. Pinot Noir was the next variety to be harvested as well as surprisingly sound St. Laurent grapes. Mid-October we finally picked Blaufränkisch which showed good physiological ripeness.

Like a golden thread all grape varieties showed very small harvesting quantities. Yields were reduced by 30% to 50% in comparison with last year. The main reason for this reduction lies with the relatively bad weather conditions during blossoming. That means the grapes were from the beginning very loose. The wines aging in barrels are now, fruity with good acidity and good structure.
We are curious about their further development.
